Do you day dream?

This might be the birth right of teens and young ladies, but no one is exempt from it. I guess women and teens in particular dream more often than men. However, do you day dream? Have you caught yourself day dreaming when you should be working? Personally speaking I am a dreamer. I dream about beautiful places, landscaped gardens, sunrise/sunset scenes, calm river/brooks/lakes, morning lights and such. They bring me so much peace. I used to do that when I was working full time and had a stressful job, within a couple of minutes of visualizing the scene I would be totally at peace. This habit has grown with me and continues to help me. I do not use it as an escape mechanism, mainly because I don't need to escape from anything. I love my life the way it is. What do you day dream about - Love, career, success, wealth, fame if not any of these what do you day dream about?

I think we are all guilty of day dreaming at some point in time. Some perhaps more than others. I find myself day dreaming more about retirement, and the things I wanna do when we can retire. Although, I don't work, I need to move hubby along. There are also places I want to visit before I kick the bucket.

@Rollo1 Wow a new identity? Is it perhaps because you are not comfortable or happy with the person you are now? Or is it just a fun way of spending time? Long novels, I don't dream of but a book and a collection of flash fiction is something I dream of often..I have these stories running in my head which I often given expression to in my poetry or other writings.

I'm a writer, so I tend to daydream pretty much all the time. Even when I'm not supposed to be. Especially when I'm not supposed to be. I think daydreaming is a good thing, as long as you don't take it too far and shirk what you should be doing because of it. I love imagining different things, and creativity is a big part of my life. I think imagination is important.

@phyrre I am glad to find dreamers here.. LOL I guess most writers are dreamers too.. Imagination is an important tool for writing, especially creative writing. LOL I keep my day dreaming to long rides and quiet times off the job. LOL

@kevin1877uk You just renewed my faith in men.. But I am going to wait and see how many men respond positively. This seems to be a a great way to get over the boredom.

I daydream when I have nothing to do. Sometimes I'll daydream about how my life would be if I did something differently... then I take that idea and write a story out of it. It's how I get inspiration for most of my writings.

@kataomoi I do that to.. I write poetry more from imagination than from real life occurrences. My day dreams become the back drop or even the theme for my poetry and definitely the back drop for some flash fiction I used to write. I am always happy to meet people like myself.
