I Am Not Liking My Job Now

When I first started my job at the beginning of June, I was actually liking it. I like putting away the new fabric that comes in and the other merchandise that I work out on the floor. The only thing I didn't like was learning how to use the handheld device that has the information for pricing, item locations, and all kinds of other info.
Now, about two and a half months later, I'm nearly dreading going to work. People are so disrespectful of the merchandise. They either steal it, destroy it, or just drop merchandise from another department off in the one where I work. Also, over the past couple of weeks, I have not had the proper handheld and printer equipment to use for my job. I have had to go to another department to borrow theirs many times. I think there has been only 3 days...or is it 2...that I have been able to get the equipment at the beginning of my shift. The sporting goods department manager told me the other day, "I wish that you could get your own stuff!" Well, you are not the only one!! Sporting goods is the one that I borrow from MOST frequently.
Sometimes, I wonder why I even started working there. Ugh.

There are shift managers that I ask if they have seen any of the equipment I need. No one has seen any. I ask around the store to see if there is a spare set floating around. Nope.
One time, I told a shift manager that I had a question. He said he would get back to me after he takes care of a customer's need. He never did get back to me.

Sometimes you have to keep asking the shift managers as they have so much on their mind that they do forget so reminding them is not a bad thing. I would just tell them you are having to borrow from another department and they are telling you they wish you would get the proper equipment in your department and stop bothering them.

@Marcyaz Well, department managers are the ones who get the equipment first. Then it is slim pickin's after that.
