Leave Comments at Old Posts?

MyLot was started in 2006 and rebooted in 2015. Right? Finding some really good posts that date way back with comments left behind dating back also. Check the member profile and in most cases it appears the writer is no longer active. Don't know if the writer will ever return. What to do? Leave a comment? Click Like? Suggest the post? Now that this site has been rebooted, what do you do when you find interesting older posts? - Decided to treat the post as if it was recently published, like it and/or leave comments. - Haven't decided whether or not to suggest the post. Would you?

I'm having to catch up so much on everyone's new posts that I don't really run into the old posts yet.

As I was saying to Owlings reply, I am one of the people who has stopped posting in 2013 and then returned in 2015. In my case, it was a mix between the stopping of payments, and the fact I was moving to a new country so was focusing on other things. Now that all that is settled, and mylot is back on the payment wheel, here I am. There may still be people who don't know mylot has brought back the payments and they might check it out upon receiving a notification in their emails.

Yes. The good thing is that eMail notifications are sent. At some other sites no eMails are sent. If you don't sign on you won't know. Receiving notifications is great!

You never know when your response to an old post will actually send out a mail to the person and that person will remember they used to be a member of MyLot and come back to see what's going on! Also, activity on old posts will still count towards your earnings.

That is so true - there are quite a few of us that have returned along with the paying system, after we stopped posting in 2013 along with the cease of payments.

Leave a response. You may not get an answer from someone that posted it but maybe someone who read it or saw that you posted there. Maybe you will bring back an old member that didn't learn that we are back. I left one on a post my mom made knowing she won't ever see it. It made me feel better.

Yes. That's my decision. Will leave comments on a discussion that interests me and disregard the date. Might also suggest to others.

I've read a few old posts, but I haven't commented on any of them. I'm not sure whether it's worth the trouble.

I would be willing to comment on old discussionsif they are interesting enough. One of my old discussions, gotrevived again, after two years, so it is worth the effort, especially if the user has come back. I do realize that there may be some that will never come back, but one never knows unless they comment to an olddiscussion. They do need to be revived again, that is for sure.

@Gina145 and @rosekiss - Just answered my own question. Found a post asking for opinions on transgender surgery and suggested it to my followers. It's a hot topic these days.

@cmoneyspinner I'll bear that in mind if I find something really interesting. So far I haven't used the suggest feature, but I'm still learning my way around here.

I find a lot of old posts when I look at the....you might also like list. I will like and comment if the post warrants, even if it is old and the writer is not currently active.

I am pretty much sticking to the new posts but if I do find an older post that I like I will like and respond.

If that post has several responses/comments your comment may not be quite visible. I have noticed that.I have not done it that seriously but am planning on doing some.

I guess few people go to read the old posts like you.The post writer would be pleasantly surprised at the sight of your comment information in the email.

I doubt to respond old post. I will still like when I find it interesting though. Actually recently I respond old post accidentally. After I posted my response, luckily the discussion owner ( means he is still active here ) replied me. When he said the discussion was around 2012, I just realized it's old post. OMG.. I felt like stupid and just laugh on it

I've only responded to old posts when I don't notice they are old , seems like it doesn't inspire further discussion but you never know. if you find an interesting topic, you can always suggest it or take inspiration from it in a future discussion

I still respond and like it hoping they might see it and continue. Not sure if they are still active or not, but I guess I find out after no response or I see them elsewhere.
