Monoline Investment Scheme: Is it a WIN or a LOSE?

Here in the Philippines, there are lots of monoline investment scheme. It means if you give the amount of money that they require for you join, you will be on a queue and might receive triple or more of the money that you gave. Sounds good, right? But later on you'd wonder how they make money to pay the members. They don't have product to sell. The answer is: the money comes from the members also. As long as there are payins, there would be payouts. The problem is that when people stop joining. I'm afraid of investing on those monoline schemes but I'm quite curious so I joined one that costs a little more than a dollar. Their rule is for every five new members, one will payout. They also have automatic re-entry so the cycle supposed to continue non-stop. However, the admin gave away lots of prizes for those who can invite people to join as well as those who have the highest invites. Now, there few people who are paying in. The admin is worried about the group's finances. Though they are still paying, it's not the same as before. As I calculated, with the scheme that they have, the cycle supposed to continue but due to extra expenses that the admin did, they are losing money and might not be able to pay the members soon. Have you joined any monoline money making scheme?

When the music stops, the ones still on the floor are the losers. Monoline money making scheme is a scam. It is made to benefit the first few members who are definitely the scam masters. It is a good question that you ask: how do they get the money to pay you? The answer is: you yourself pay it. Don't ever introduce the scheme to your friends, relatives etc. When the scam breaks, you are the one that your referrals will curse.

That's right. Thanks! That's why my plan is to sponsor my relatives. I will provide their starter investment, which will also come from my earning from the group. Right now, they want the active members to join a fund raising activity. I did not join. I'd rather lose one time with small amount than to be used by them. It's their fault why there would be shortage in money. They spent too much on giving bonuses.

True.. it reminds me to a friend who introduce this typical business to his neighbor and relatives. He is very good guy. But when the business doesn't work anymore, people blame him for everything like it was only because of him

@Shylambert The truth is that the Monoline Investment Scheme is a scam: They are made to cheat money. Your participation there will only encourage more people to join and most of them will definitely lose their money. Even if you do sponsor them, for them to make money, they will try to recruit more members, and they may be blamed when the end comes. Just keep in mind - where does the money come to pay you - it's the other member's money. Will every member get pay? The scheme master does not work for free, does he/she? We all know the answer.

Yeah I am part of one right now but I only joined because it has a very low pay in amount at less than a dollar. So far it's still up and running. Hopefully I really get the full amount they planned to give out based on the pay out scheme. If not then it's not really that much money to lose.

@Shylambert yep you need invites for the all the lines to move and there is an auto-reentry back to line 1 after exiting line 5. Ours is still alive and kicking because it is a very low amount. And we also don't have any refund but hey it's just a little amount that's why I joined up and am still inviting new members.

@owstalaga Good for you! How did they do that? Is it a requirement to invite? How about re-entry? The one where I joined is slowly dying but the admin is kind enough to do something to be able to pay all the members. There's no refund in the policy but she opened a line for those who want to refund. I guess it's fine as long as they give back the money.

Mono-line investment is also popular in Indonesia. That kind of business doesn't excited me. It's too much speculation and there's no certainty of it sustainable. I would rather work hard to start blogging from nol. Many people has joined that kind of business happy at first and drying at the end

In Mononline investment, being greedy is the enemy. When the members started to think only of themselves, they will leave the others with nothing. That's the risk.

@redvakaurvaki I guess so but I think it's unintentional because they are looking for ways to make easy money during hard times. It's just sad that they easily trust people and invested a lot of money.

I am from India,I have seen such scheme in different names for years,no one makes money other than the promoter or top person at pyramid,it is a from of scam, never ever think of investing in such scheme, ultimate it is your hard earned money right, put the money in index mutual fund or buy ETF(exchange traded fund) in long run you will make decent return.
