Impact of Organizational Culture on Merger and Acquisition

Its a difficult time for both the companies while they are merging or one is acquiring another as different cultured organizations will come and work together. So, Cultural Integration process is one of the most important thing to focus on at that time. We all have seen the case Daimler and Chrysler which were great Companies before the Acquisition. The Ignorance of the administration towards the importance of this Integration Process was the main reason of the failure. So, what I am trying to put up here is that 2 organizations with either weak cultures or weak/strong or strong cultures must understand the need of the hour and bring this Cultural Integration Process into their Merger and Acquisition Process. Even today, most companies fail to do so. why?
