I'm sure we've all heard this saying before...it meaning that when you're old, you can't learn anything new!! Now, whether it's a dog or a person, I think even when you're old, you can still learn something new!! For example the other day when we went to town, my hubby bought me a smartphone!!! Now, I've never had a smartphone before, so yes, I'm 50+ years old and learning how to use a smartphone!! Don't know how I'm going to keep the screen clean or what to do about my fingers being to big and hitting the wrong letters when texting, but I'm learning!! I also remember being 40 and learning how to use crutches, I'd never used crutches before this!! So anyways, do you think you can teach an old dog/person new tricks?

My mother in law is in her 70's but going strong... I am getting calls all the time about how to do this or that. Oh and she still believes everything on facebook is the whole of the internet and it is all true.

I think we are never too old to learn new stuff,if we want to. Old dogs? Mine does not want to learn anything anymore.

Absolutely, I think if you're willing to learn it doesn't matter at what age you are, you can learn! Yeah, our dog is getting set in her ways, but when I think she is set, I try the "set" way and she doesn't respond!!

It all comes down to the person's willingness to learn. Take my mom and dad for example. My mom learned how to use the internet after I taught her the basics. My dad, on the other hand, just thinks it's a waste of time. So yeah, you can teach ANYONE anything provided they are open to learning.

I think I understand the problems of old persons. I am 22 now. I can learn new things easily. For an old person it is really difficult. He/She may learn a lot in different ways during his whole life. The old person may belief many ides which were perfect in older days. Now people think those useless. It happens with time. I see this kind of things happened for my father, grandma, grandpa. We should much more helpful. I always try to help them.

But how old is old? You "young" folks have it easy because you have modern technology doing the work for you. You can learn a lot from us OLD people!!
