One of my hobbies is photography and I take LOTS of photos. Sometimes when I take a really bad photo I'll delete it from my camera immediately, but once I download photos from my camera to my computer, I very rarely delete them. I've discovered that even terrible photos can be turned into interesting abstracts with a little work. This picture is one I created from a photo of some trees I took recently. Do you ever play with your photos?

My sixth sense told me that you were interested by photography. I play with photos since years too. I started when I needed to remove the frame of an old printed photo for a (professional) article. I was not finding the good filter (frames have changed a lot during the 20th C), and I finally created one. I am a Linux user, and I use very primitive tools, often homemade. I am a kind of caveman doing a video montage with the command line. Kidding, I can also play with filters for Gimp and create one if needed. I was looking at your photo, and I find the colors on the borders really nice. Well done.

Thanks @topffer . I use PhotoShop, but sometimes I think I should have spent more time trying to learn Gimp and saved a lot of money.

@Gina145 Well, I have an old friend who is what I would call a professional (he has thousands of photo available in several banks for pictures and has published 2 books with photos) even if it was not his job, who has always used Photoshop and dislikes Gimp. If you can do approximately the same work with them, Photoshop is often faster and easier, and a professional tool, while Gimp is for an amateur like me who does not count his time.

Sure, I enjoy playing with my photos from time to time. As it is, I had fun playing with my avatar, until I finally settled on the one that I'm using.

Thanks! I didn't draw it though! I used my photo editing software!
