I have been sewing, knitting, and crocheting for many years (I'd hate to say how many
). It was pretty frustrating when the learning process was slow. When I first started knitting, it was just knitting and purling. At first, a crochet hook and ball of yarn would turn into a very long chain. With sewing, it was lots of seams that needed to be ripped out.
But after time and practice and patience, I began to make afghans and sweaters with a variety of yarns. I loved to sew so much that I would stay up all night and make all kinds of clothing for myself.
One of the earliest dresses I made was an a-line shift that was sleeveless. I laid out the pattern on the fabric, cut it out, and sewed up all the seams. My Grandma put in the zipper for me. After she helped me get the armhole binding started, I was able to finish it on my own. When I had completed that dress, I was so proud of the fact that I made it. I know, my Grandma helped, but I did most of it!!
I love to knit shawls, scarves, sweaters, and fingerless gloves. I have crocheted some sweaters, hooded scarves, cup cozies, dish and wash cloths, and more. I have sewed winter coats, slacks, blouses, all kinds of stuff, and costumes for stage plays.
Anyway, I love to see the end result of my efforts. It's a lasting gratification for me.

I have seen lots of your graphics. I really like the kaleidoscope look that you do. You have lots of purple and blue, too. Thanks for spotting this post from a few months ago!
