We have Green Beans!

A little bit of work, a lot of green beans!

We have two green bean 'towers'...one we started later than the other so now that the first plants are dying off the second set are producing like crazy! Green beans must be the easiest things to grow. We have always had good luck with them. I cleaned them, cut them up and blanched them. My husband used the vacuum sealer and they are now safely in the freezer, added to the others! We will have a lot of veggies over the winter: swiss chard, carrots, green beans and broccoli. Our little 8 x 16 raised bed has been very productive the last two seasons.

Did you plant green beans this year? I much prefer the yellow ones.

Yes, two poles in the ground each with 6 plants growing. The yellow beans are usually the non-climbing beans and we don't have enough space for those. We grew them at previous homes.

They look yummy! Can I have some? It looks like you harvested them fairly "young," too before they get like me (fat and gassy).

@TheHorse We grew snow peas a few years ago and we kept up picking them. I may still have some in the freezer LOL

@AbbyGreenhill Yep, I've had that happen. You can call them Horse Beans if you want. Round and gassy, like me. They taste a bit bitter. With snow peas, the same thing can happen, with the same result.
