When was the Last Time Someone Thanked You for Doing Something for Them?

I don't normally expect a "thank you" when I do something for somebody, but it's always nice when someone says it to me. Sometimes, that in itself is enough to make me feel good about myself. Is that sad? I always try to express my gratitude whenever someone does me a favor. I mean, it's not just for the sake of good manners and courtesy, I also feel that it's the least I could do to show my appreciation for the help. I was raised that way. I just feel that sometimes, people can be so ungrateful.

I hadn't really thought about it until now, but I think that most people thank me when I do something for them ... well, at least most strangers thank me, anyway. I have some family members that rarely ever thank me for doing things for them. In fact, they rarely ever ask me to do things, either, they just tell me that I am going to do them and then expect that I will obey. I do try to thank people that do things for me, because I am grateful that they took the time to do it, even if it is a small thing like holding the door for me. I also make a point of thanking the family members that never thank me, because I do try to treat people the way that I would like to be treated even if they do not return the favor.
