Or not! LOL. We got the notice that our vehicle tags are due in September. You can pay online for which they charge you an extra $3.54. Well, I don't give the government (even local government) more money than I need to. I also had two coupons I wanted to use at the Dollar General, which is right down the road from the courthouse where we would pay in person for the tags.
Off to town we went on this beautiful summer day. As I got out of the car to run into the courthouse I jokingly said to my husband, "I bet they are out to lunch." - it wasn't so funny since they were out to lunch! Wasted trip.
Off to the Dollar General to use my coupons to save $1.55 and when it was all said and done I spent $25. I guess I didn't save any money in the long run today did I?!

Very true and it just happened again online - in order to save $5 at a site I had to spent $6 more than I wanted to - but I was nice and got the $6 item for my husband.

Oh I hate it when that happens. Good thing it rarely does. I used to go out and do errands in one day to save fare instead of doing several things in different days. Now that I'm back to work, I try to sneak other things to do before or after work to save on time or money.
