Microsoft 10 : Do you have it? Do you want it?

I have an older computer which can not be updated to the new Microsoft 10. This bothers me because not I am having issues playing videos and playing a game on Facebook. Right now I can't afford to get a new computer. Or laptop. The game I play on the computer will not load on my tablet. As it is played on computer only. Ugh! I want to get a new computer. I need to start working harder to save up for one. I don't want to by a use computer. Than take the chance of it not being updated to Microsoft 10. Why does Microsoft make everything obsolete where we are forced to buy a new computer in order to up grade?

The same scenario applies to almost everything that we use, albeit in different time frames. For example, how many people would still use a television built in 1960? Older operating systems still run as efficiently as the day that they were introduced, but the constantly advancing technology used by software developers soon outpaces the system. You could try installing a Linux operating system such as Ubuntu, which requires far less system resources.

I understand the advance of technology and upgrading systems. What I don't like are the older models are pretty much made obsolete. So, we are forced to buy new. I remember when Microsoft did this many years ago. Seem to be a trend every ten years or so.

@Bluedoll Yes, Ubuntu will run well on many old computers and has a myriad of software available. The major factor that deterred me from using Ubuntu more frequently was the introduction of GRUB2 as a bootloader. I found GRUB quite easy to configure to generate a personalised flash screen and boot menu, whereas GRUB2 is a definite nightmare.

Excellent question. I understand that 10 might not be upgraded to say 11. We will have to see what happens. There are so many changes even to browsers that require new OS.
