Is Time going faster as we get older

Today I had the pleasure of speaking to a 91 year old woman. She was amazing, had such a positive attitude to life and mentally was really cognitive, much more than I. We spoke about how fast time goes as the years fly by. She posed the point that when we are younger time seems to drag and as we get older it speeds up,
Do you remember a time when you were very young and time seemed ever so slow then as you got older it appeared to speed up? or is this just a myth?

I believe this that time does go faster as we get older.
I have experienced it myself.
My Mother who is now 87 cries as she says where did the time go?

When we are young, we are always looking forward, wishing time away so we can reach the next level, the next inch of height, the next summer vacation, etc. Time goes slowly because we are impatient. When we are older, we are always looking back, wishing time hadn't gone by, wanting to revisit lovely people and memorable times. There is nothing to hurry towards, we want to savor what we have. And yet, time runs by so swiftly because we would wish it not to be so.

I am 80 and I know last week I was 53. Yes we know time doesn't actually go faster or slower but remember old people take a lot of naps so time seems to pass by!

@glenniah I was never a nap person--then I hit 75 and at 4 PM the eyes automatically shut!! LOL
