Law and Order anyone?

The funny thing is, I have only watched the SVU series of the whole Law and Order series.I don't know if I could be that kind of detective, dealing with live victims mostly.
If you were a detective, do you think you could deal better with murdered victims, or live victims with lifelong trauma from their experiences?
Also, for those who have seen the show, did you like the earlier seasons better or the later seasons with the newer characters?

I have only seen a few episodes in all the long time it has been televised.
But I do not feel I could ever do a good job at all about that.
