What's on the other side of your portal?

One of my favorite books is The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. If you've read it or seen the movies, you know that four children fall through the back of a wardrobe and end up in Narnia - a very different world from the English countryside. The children have many adventures in Narnia. It's much more pleasant than the world that Alice falls into when she runs after that rabbit. Maybe it's just me, but I always found Alice in Wonderland to be a little creepy. There's always a sinister undertone. Dorothy Gale travels via tornado and lands in Oz. She meets many wonderful friends but she also has a rather evil witch following her everywhere. Falling into other worlds happens all the time in fiction and in the movies. It's a way of taking an average person and setting them down in a very unusual place. We can identify with them as they explore the strange circumstances they find themselves in. I haven't decided yet what my perfect fantasy world would be like, but I do think that chocolate would figure heavily into the design. I think there would be trees with chocolate leaves that you could pick and eat. And nothing would be hard, everything would be pillow soft, so that even if you fell, you couldn't get hurt. And gravity, I would lessen that a bit to make movement a little easier on my creaky joints. What if you had your very own portal, your own wardrobe with a back that opened up into another world. What would be on the other side? What would your alternate world look like? Would you meet new friends or take your old friends with you? Can you talk to the animals?

I loved the Chronicles of Narnia when I was growing up, but I seem to have lost my taste for fantasy worlds lately, so I'm not really sure how to answer your question. Featuring chocolate in it sounds good though.

You really can't go wrong with chocolate. It would be nice, I think, to step through my portal and be on a beach by the ocean. But then, the sun would melt the chocolate. It's very complicated and requires a lot of thought.

That is an easy answer for me. Ireland. It is my one and only peace. For it is fantasy land in reality.

Lucky for you then, that you don't need a portal to get to Ireland. You can go by boat or plane

My fantasy world would be that I would have a garden laden with every kind of fruit and buyers pushing their way to buy them. This may seem odd as today I have several fruits that have no takers.

Never have read the book but was able to see the movies,I like it and in fact have seen it many times,I'll never got fed up watching it. As of the fantasy world,I have never thought of what it is to be like,I'll think of it sometimes.

I have written so often about these dreams.. of across the bridge kinds. I always see an utopia on the other side no pain, no suffering, no toil. I see beauty, nature in all her splendor with many more colors than what we see here.. Seas and lakes of glass and gold streets too.. There would be a lot of music in my world, clouds and glorious golden light.

They did a pretty good job on the movies, which is unusual for Hollywood.
