What could we do?

I read about an old lady with a hard sharp stuff grown out on her forehead. My mum of 98 yr old has a hard round bone grown for years on the right side of her head. It looks bigger than before, but she doesn't feel pain. We consulted the doctors, and we can do nothing about it.
What could we do?
