2000 AD 1993 – Spoiler alerts. There are serious Judge Dredd stories and comedy ones. The Hottie House Siege is funny to the point of just plain daft, but totally hilarious for that. A cult of self-declared morons have hit on the idea of giving themselves full frontal lobotomies bit by bit. Every now and then they have removed more of their brains to bring them closer to God. The story deals with a splinter sect who have decided to hold up a Hottie House (a fast food diner). Having killed the hostages they forget what demands they ever went in with in the first place and end up arguing among themselves as to who should pretend to be the next hostage to (really) get shot while the Judges just wait for them to virtually slaughter each other. Dredd eventually loses patience and finishes them off himself. Arthur Chappell
