Dog-Sitting for the Weekend

This week/weekend is the last one before I will start school again, and for these last few days of summer, I have taken up the company of a small dog named Princess. I am watching her while my sister's friend is Up North. I knew that taking this job would be a lot of responsibility as Princess is very tiny and can easily sneak through our gate, and so must be chaperoned while she goes outside. She is also still a young puppy, and cannot hold her bladder for much time at all. She came to me at midnight last night and already I have had to clean up three messes she made in the house. She also does not like to be alone and will whimper and cry whenever she is. Despite all these problems, it is impossible to stay mad at the dog as she is very cute and playful! However, my dog, who is much older and larger, does not agree with this. The two do not get along at all! Does anyone have any tips or suggestions how to get these two dogs on good terms? Since Princess will be staying until Sunday, this will just make for an easier weekend.

You might not be able to make them friends. Older dogs sometimes don't have patience with energetic pups. But hopefully, you can keep the peace.

Thankfully the puppy went home Sunday, but I'm sad to say that the two dogs never made peace with each other!

you must have so much fun and stress at the same time i love animals so much, but it is troublesome to clean up after them... maybe you should just stay outside all the time?

Haha, yes it was very stressful! Especially considering it was a baby Pitbull- she got in to anything she could get her teeth on! We had to spend a considerable amount of time outside, I found that it was just easier to let her run around until she tired herself out

The only thing I can say is don't pay more attention to the puppy than you do to the other dog. Sometimes we do pay more attention to a puppy and that will make the other dog not like the puppy. Give them treats at the same time.
