What do you think about seat belt laws?

What do you think about seat belt laws? Do you think they should be mandatory or should they be a choice? Should adults be required to wear a seat belt?

First of all, seat belts saves lives. A law is a requirement, so it can't be a choice.

Although I agree but I will play devils advocate. Shouldn't an adult be allowed to chose?

@loki1982 Adults don't always make good decisions and that is proven by how many die in accidents not wearing a seat belt.

I have never been sure that seatbelts save lives as one can also be trapped by them.

Sea belts have been imposed by the lobbying of insurances, like motorbikes helmets. As you don't hurt anybody when you don't wear a sea belt or a helmet, it should not be mandatory.

I think they should be mandatory and they are in Arizona. If adults don't use them they teach there kids the wrong thing
