TV Review – The Big Bang Theory - The Big Bran Hypothesis

Spoiler alerts The second episode features just the series regulars, and never leaves the apartment block. We learn of Howard’s nut allergy and see him again hitting on Penny in competition with Leonard, and to some extent, Raj too. Sheldon’s deconstruction of Superman’s abilities highlights how uber-nerd he is. There is a Laurel & Hardy style farce as Sheldon & Leonard struggle to move furniture up the stairs to Penny’s flat. Penny’s untidiness shocks Sheldon who breaks into her apartment in the night to tidy up round her, emphasising the extent of his Obsessive Compulsive (OCD) behaviour. Penny discovers he has been in and blames Leonard, but eventually forgives him with a tender hug. She also hugs Raj who still can’t talk to her but we hear his inner voice (a plot devise abandoned quite early on in the series). The nerds have a meeting to decide how to best assemble Penny’s new media system, oblivious that she is putting it together herself behind them. A minor episode that introduces some character traits and quirks but not much more. Arthur Chappell
