Employers who bombard me with reminders about interviews

I am steadily getting things ready for my job interview this afternoon, and I keep getting texts and e-mails from the employer reminding me of the appointment. Do they think I might just forget to turn up for something so important? Such reminders actually start to bug me after a while.

Did you send them a response? I find that the doctor I go to is fond of bombarding me with reminders, but if I respond to any of them they won't keep following up on it. Either way, I agree that it's incredibly obnoxious in general. There have been times when I've forgotten an appointment and they have saved me the embarrassment and hassle of having to reschedule, though!
I hope that your interview goes well!

I sent a reply to the first message but a few more have arrived since. I'll just ignore them now as it's probably some kind of automated system - most of the messages are word for word the same.

@arthurchappell You'd think they'd set it up so that they weren't harassing candidates!
Seems a lot of effort to go through to make sure interviewees show up. I wonder how many candidates who would forget end up going, only to fail to show up to their assigned shifts on time if they're hired...

@yukimori Absolutely. If it is important enough to someone they don't forget

oh maybe they really need people so they are anxious of applicants not showing up.
