Without man, there would be no God. Men who search for 'God' outside of themselves are like dogs chasing their own tails.

You have it so backwards.....Without God their would be no Man, their would be no earth... And the ones chasing their tails are the ones that have not found him yet...

@dlr297 You have completely missed the point of that video. One creator, one God, One truth, one set of rules for everyone, blah, blah... that is what everyone says about their own religion.

@TwoEms No the video only shows what has happened to all religions that have changed the original word of God to mean what they want it to... One God...One Creator,, One set of rules...One word of God....

Isn't that rather like saying "Without a son or daughter, there would be no mother and father."? George Fox said "There is that of God in every man". If you search for God inside yourself and find Him, does that mean He is not real?

All we have is ourselves and each other. God is just a name given to one's deeper self that is not yet understood.

@TwoEms The human mind is an incredibly complex mechanism. It can (and often does) fool us into misinterpreting the information it receives through our senses The 'Experience of God', however, is not received through the ordinary senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell or taste, though it commonly affects and modifies them in various ways and is often described in terms of them. The problem of whether or not the Universe was created by an intelligent and reasoning being or whether it's the result of a completely random series of events is one which has troubled millions and has been debated (and dogmatized) probably from the very early days of human existence. It certainly does appear to be something which is peculiar to our species. I certainly believe that the human experience of God is very strongly affected by our own concepts of what constitutes intelligence and that, in turn, is based on the only 'intelligent' being we know, which is us! So, in that sense, I think that it is true to say that 'Man has created God in his own image'.

The existence of God to man is a very personal issue. How God is described to anyone is varied as we know. Highly debatable, God means many things to many people, and nothing to some.

God is for those who are unable to grasp the fact that all we have is each other. It is created by man, for man. It is an attempt to control human behavior - sort of like the government. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Unfortunately, it also causes wars.I have seen people change for the better because of their belief in "God", but, really, it is just a placebo and they don't have the confidence to credit themselves.
