What's worse? failing or not trying?

what do you think is worse? failing to do something or not trying?

It depends what it is that I could try or not try. Failing in sales work door to door was something I have experienced but I'm glad I tried it. I'd prefer not to try sky-diving as failing to do that would obviously be terminal.
