Is being on top of the corporate ladder your main goal or is staying happy in your usual job enough for you?

i've lived a simple life to the point that i tend to just be satisfied with my usual job right now for I am happy. However, I'm not getting younger. i know i ought to get a goal in life but its just frustrating to make an effort based from my experiences so i chose tobe placid and just let time tell. I just know now i'm satisfied with my stature. Care to share guys?

Change is the only thing in life which is permanent, besides as one gets mature with a job, so should he/she strive to take additional responsibilities. Rather than staying put at one places ,for years on end.

I add in a third choice. That is to retire young and rich, so that you do not need a job, and you do not need to climb the corporate ladder. If you are good in investment, you can always fill your time with volunteering, and attending seminars and shareholder meetings. You do not need a job once you reach that stage.
