Do you think physiotherapy helps in bone joining?

My mother in law has arthritis and her knee joint is getting worst doctor adviced her one week physiotherapy and suggested for XRay after that to check out the bone joint .If its rejoined or not.I am off the opinion a bone can't get joined in this short period of physiotherapy.What di o you think do share your verdict?

Physiotherapy works on muscles and ligaments and not on bones

@amnabas I am not aware of that, May be certain situations.
