educational ipad games?

My kids were just given ipads from school. They are allowed to have up to 5 EDUCATIONAL games. However, to their dismay that doesn't include minecraft. Anyone got any suggestions of games that are fun, educational and even better FREE for 8-10yr olds?

Quiz games can be fun and educational. My daughter has this science quiz game she likes to play, but I forget the name of it.

LMK when you find out its name maybe my kids would be interested in them as well. Like I said their hearts were set on minecraft but I guess they have to wait til they are older to use it on there as the oldest has been able to have it on hers

Look up what games are available on free app stores for the I-Pad and then check out details on any game that looks promising.
