Looking through my photos... I found this.... the beauty of nature.., in black...

I am a very keen, amateur photographer,,, I take pictures of all sorts of things... as I usually have a camera on me in one form or another... I have just come back from a work placement... in England, and I took my camera... I saw this beauty.... a Black Swan.... quite a rare sight in the UK.... they have been introduced to some European countries to help conservation numbers...., isn't she a beauty.... the white ones are lovely too, and a more common site, but the plumage of the black swan was much more clearly defined and visible in a photo. As I mentioned in a previous discussion... I have been busy backing up my photos which I do quite regularly, and I saw this one, and was reminded of how fortunate I was to see such a beauty, that I thought I would share it with you..... it made me smile again... How often do you visit your photos... ? and don't they bring back some wonderful memories when you do....??

All my pictures are stuck in my data card. I have just got my new laptop after my old one crashed.. I am yet to install all the software.. I usually take at least a few pictures everyday..

I have loads stuck on there too. It seems like so much trouble developing them for some reason.

I have recently retrieved some photos off some hard drives from other computers. I forgot most of those photos existed.

Yes, I do get some wonderful memories when I revisit my old photos. If it puts a smile on your face it's worth keeping around. :) By the way, that's a great photo you have there. I love it. I often take pics of the ducks, geese and swans in my area and it never seems to grow old.

@sueznewz2 You're very welcome! We have a lot of Great Blue Herons here, and many white swans. Don't believe I've ever seen a black swan in this area but they probably exist. (I'm in Michigan)

@novelangel thanks Kristie, i'm glad you like the photo..and like you said it never gets tired, no matter how many photos you take.... I like your comment about anything that makes you smile is worth keeping around... you are lucky to have a nice variety of wild life.... I live on the coast..we have many gulls...but my favourite bird locally are the cormerants....

Beautiful picture of a beautiful swan... Black swan is a symbol of the western state down here - one can see many of them on the Swan River.

@sueznewz2 I can't remember the last time I actually printed some photos. I don't think I will find them, not seen them in over 10 years

@gudheart I know that I unearthed lots of photos when I decided to scan all my pre digital photos. My hubby is trying to bring some sort of organisation to my storage hard drive as I have multiple copies of some photos. I hate the thought of mistakenly throwing away a photo so if I have used a photo for something I save it again lol... In the process of organising the photos my husband is seeing photos he didn't know he had and hadn't seen in over 50 years, so don't give up hope you might come across the missing photos when looking for something else lol..

I love the way photographs trigger the memories of the time they were taken. It is amazing how one photograph can refresh my memory of things and events and they don't even have to be visible in the photo. I love digital photography :D

Black swans are lovely aren't they. I have a photo of one that I've used a few times - my daughter took it.

absolutely stunnin' 'n i fear that'cha aint no amateur my friend - ya could easily sell yer beautiful photos 's prints - they're jest that grand. when i've time i peruse through pics from the past. typically durin' the winter months. i need to stock up on paper 'n ink coz i'm way 'hind with printin' 'em. seems most 'f the past couple years 're jest stuck on my external drive 'n i should know from past experience that aint a good fail safe. i lost thousands 'f photos when my ol' pc croaked - was heartbreakin'.

@crazyhorseladycx Ooohhhh no....how awful ....like you I would have been gutted.... I lost some that I had stored on a cd... so now we have two back up hard drives... thank you for your kind comments on my photos....it's very encouraging.....thanks and it blesses me when I know other folks enjoy what i've done....
