A Week VS. Seven Days

I have caught cold.Since last night I am not feeling well.But I will not visit my doctor.All I will do is drink warm water and take turmeric powder with warm water.It has worked miracles with me whenever I caught cold. A doctor had once said to me,'If you have caught cold and you take medicines,you would get rid of your problem in a week.But if you don't take medicines,it would take you as many as seven days to cure.'

My son's pediatrician used to say the same thing. He would say let it takes its course.. get some rest and have warm liquids.

@sofs,that means the doctor was right.At first I thought he was joking,but if your paediatrician tells the same thing,then I believe he was not wrong.Actually we even can't think that some physical problems can be treated without taking medicines.

@else34 I like him so much because he doesn't stuff medicines down my children's throats. He speaks the truth openly. Hard to find doctors like that today.. they are more money minded.

@sofssu They are honest professionals who don't exploit their patients.I know doctors who go on trying new medicines on their patients.

Either it was just a slip of the mind. Or he may have meant with medicine it would be gone in a week. But if you don't it will take 7 days to start getting better.

@Jared D,He meant that I don't need medicines to get rid of it,because it gets cured provided you follow some precautions.
