Bears sign DB Lott
The Chicago Bears signed defensive back Andre Lott to a one-year contract on Wednesday after cornerback Ricky Manning Jr. was suspended for one game by the NFL.
Lott appeared in one game with the San Diego Chargers and was released on Nov. 15.
Drafted by Washington in the fifth round in 2002, Lott played in 31 games and recorded 28 tackles, including one sack, in three seasons with the Redskins. He started three games in 2004 before sustaining a season-ending pectoral injury against Green Bay on Oct. 31. Then, he hurt his knee during an offseason practice and missed the 2005 season.
Manning, the Bears' leader with four interceptions, was suspended one game by the NFL on Wednesday for his role in a restaurant altercation and will not play this week at New England
