Do you watch reality shows?

I noticed these days that there are a lot of reality shows in the TV these days. MTV used to air music videos when I was younger but now, there are hardly any music videos! Anybody here who watch these reality shows? Is it really that entertaining?

I used to watch Big Brother (Philippines) but after a few seasons, you can sense the housemates are just in there for the drama. I can't watch the UK edition of Big Brother, though. It's just too trashy for me!

@PainsOnSlate Maybe the TV channel should start putting subtitles in it LOL!

@cessy_08 This season will probably be the last one I watch here in Canada. This year everyone on the show is whispering...We can't hear what they are saying. Do they not understand its a TV show and most TV's have sound... I'm exaggerating, but I have missed enough conversations I'm not interested anymore..

My husband watches a few of them, but I rarely sit down and watch TV. I don't have the time or the interest.

HAHA, same here! My husband has his regular TV shows to follow (ie Criminal Minds, Suits etc) but I just don't have the time to do these things! I guess it is his way of relaxing after working the whole day but I just can't let hours pass me by especially when I know I have other things to do!

@BettyB HAHAHA so true! What kind of books do you read - if I may ask? :)

@cessy_08 I may start watching a little TV once I retire, but the odds are against it. I would rather read a book.

yep I watch a lot of reality shows these days, not on MTV though. I watch shows on real estate or business or even documentaries like nature shows or metaphysical ones. I don't watch Big Brother or Kardashians because of all the drama. Our lives already have too much drama so I'd rather not watch such anymore.

@cessy_08 Yeah, just wanted to add it in the list.

Ah, I think that is a better option. I am not sure if documentaries can be categorized as a form of "reality show", though.

I do watch a bit of Kardashian's here and there, but can't imagine watching it daily! Plus, there are just a lot these days. It seems that it is the only thing we can see on TV most of the time! I especially don't like the teenage pregnancy reality show. It is like encouraging these teens to get pregnant to get in the show.

@cessy_08 I have never watched the Kardashian's, don't think I would like it. However, I got into the Bad Girls Club and Housewifes of Atlanta. I do watch the 16 and pregnant series, it's interesting to me... but I do agree it could be sending the wrong messages to teens.

I can't really imagine anything more mind-numbing than reality TV. It's very worrying that more people vote on Big Brother than vote in General Elections!

OMG, that is so true! Plus there are some really trashy reality shows. It is like telling kids these days that it is OK to party and get drunk because you can get a career with reality TV.
