Polls do not make for good discussion (though the results of a poll may do). That is why MyLot specifically forbids (and deletes) the kind of post which only requires one or two word answers or one of a selection. The old rules also included 'game type' posts (“Let’s see how high we can count, I’ll start with one”.was an example given and, believe it or not, a few really did post something as inane as that!).

There will always be those who will try to buck and abuse the system here - it takes strong, even ruthless moderators to get rid of those who would start count up style threads

@arthurchappell Our moderator is male, so I am pretty sure he's Ruth-less
. With the help of the eyes of many members, the bulk of abuse here lives no longer than 24 hours.

I don't think MyLot wants yes, no, or maybe answers. That doesn't leave much room for members to actually interact and discuss the topic. MyLot, as a website, needs interesting and QUALITY content for the good of the site. Simple words like yes and no are not very interesting and certainly do not make for quality content on a website.

@arthurchappell There certainly are sites which have an opportunity to create polls. They are not usually, however, 'discussion' sites in the same way as MyLot and nor are their earnings systems (if any) calculated in the same way.

myLot is getting ready for a huge update or upgrade whatever it may be called. You can suggest this to them.

I think you can do a poll, as long as the answers are one's that involve some explainations and details.

maybe :) I think it would help to start discussions, although I guess it would depend on the poll
