Last night brought back an old theme that also stirs my claustrophobia when I dive too far into the play. In a mass of blankets I curled into a ball and remain trapped from the light of the nightstand. But it's not a mass of blankets, instead it is a rocky shell, a prison that was created hundreds of years before. It happened in a small village. There was a demon living among the townspeople and they lived with him. Together they shared adventures and friendships. He wasn't evil and they knew it. He was more a part of the natural world than anything else. One day the townspeople are up in arms. Several of their neighbor's bodies are found, and the demon is the one blamed despite the lack of evidence. Unwilling to hear his words, they bind him with their magic and seal him in stone, to never break free because the tradition of reinforcing the seal will be passed down to each generation. 500 or more years later, the tradition is seen as silly, and the family members stop practicing it. The bind spells weaken, and a weather event or earthquake break the stone shell. But it is just a crack. And from the crack he can see the world. A world that has been out of reach for ages. However, it's not revenge the demon craves, just release. To be free again. And as fate has it, it is often that descendant that frees him or befriends him. Free at last, sleep is allowed to come normally for once. It is a peaceful and well deserved sleep of freedom.

This sounds like the movie Red Riding Hood! Hey Morgan, you should write a book!

I really should. I have enough stories in my head for some. This would have to be a short story though, since there's not that much going on in it to be a giant book.

@OneOfMany Short stories are cool too. You can make a themed anthology or something.

Thank you. I tend to write all sorts of little glimpses into other worlds and stories often. As long as some people enjoy them!
