Evolve = Less Cat Barf

KitKat has always had a sensitive stomach. She eats, she vomits. I've tried Purina's "sensitive systems", Blue Buffalo, hand made food, all sorts of things. The vet just said keep her on the same food, as changing foods will make it worse. We've gotten used to it. Every once in a while I see something new, and try it anyway. I saw this Evolve cat food at Raley's, not that expensive either. They have a chicken and rice and a no grain chicken. The cats don't like the chicken and rice, so once it was gone I exclusively bought the no grain chicken. Voila, must be something in the grains, as she hasn't vomited since then. Hooray.

It's the same with my cats. Oddly, we had really good luck on Whiskas, but any other brand we've tried has given the cats problems and it's really hard to find Whiskas dry food anymore.. they seem to have stopped selling it. The dog is worse though. He gets skin rashes and ear infections really bad, and we switched his food and it fixed it, but eventually it started coming back again. We're now trying a chicken free and grain free diet to see how that works.

I suspect cats are not really designed to eat grains. Some of the additives in some of the foods are suspect too.

@dawnald - Well, I don't know much about cats, but my bride had one. Used to have the bad habit of shucking off my shoes and tossing them onto the floor. Cat would come along and eat the plastic tips off of the shoelaces. Thought I was going bonkers until I found out what was happening to the tips. Cat is gone now. Cremated per instructions from the boss here. Now in a little box. Best behaved cat in town, that one. Shoelaces now all keep their plastic tips, too.
