Been through various publishing web sites looking at markets for my short stories. I sent a few out but I won't get replies of acceptance or rejection for months yet.

@Beatburn that's a great break - many books printed online fail to then sell to publishers as many dislike writers also publishing the same works online

@arthurchappell I think that's what great writers need just that break to penetrate the field.

A friend of mine did that, published her novel online as an ebook. When it sold a few copies through amazon, a publisher noticed and printed it. Now it's a printed novel released here and abroad.

the worst that can happen is they say no - you just have to keep going. Watership Down by Richard Adams was rejected 23 times before it became a best-seller.

@arthurchappell If you enjoy writing short stories you can also post some online. There is a new site for only posting poetry and short stories and such. DailyTwoCents/Penstrokes.
