Do you own or rent your home? What type of home is it? I live in a single family 3 story house in a neighborhood where the houses are close together. We hope to move to the country with a lot more peace and quiet. I don't like the city living.

must have gotten a great deal or nice down payments. I owe so much we will have to leave the mortgage to the kids. That is if we don't move out within the next year. I am keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the response.

We just moved into our home so we have a long way to go before we have our mortgage paid. We have a new modular home. It is a ranch style home with a full basement. I live in the mountains so I have a lot of peace and quite. We don't have anyone living right next door to us. We live on a hill above our neighbors. It has a great view and it is really nice.

My dream. To be in the middle of nowhere but home. Sounds like the perfect setting. Was this home already on the property or did you purchase it and then the home? I would love to live in the country or somewhere I don't hear the neighbors snoring when they sleep. Houses are to close together. Thanks for the visual.

We rent our home from my mother. Basically we pay the mortgage for her. We are trying to sell it now though so we can move to Florida where we will yet again be renting.

If you are selling the home why wouldn't you buy again in Florida? Hope you have good luck selling it and be safe moving to Florida. I hope to get down there within the next year.

Owning a house/property is a much better deal in the long run. You give money to someone else when you rent. When you own or pay the mortgage company every month, you increase your own bottom line.

Yes this is true. Most of realise this but still can't afford it or don't have the right credit to get a loan to buy a home. I'm sure we all would own a home if it were that easy but thanks for letting us know this.

We own our house. Its a semi detached, 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house. We just moved in about a month ago. Its our first home! My husband and I lived with my parents for 3 and a half years before we bought our house.

Wow how did you handle that? I don't know that I could live with either of our parents that long. I love them dearly but have many different views now a day. Good luck in your new home. It's a great feeling isn't it?

We own our own home. We have lived here for almost 4 years. Before that we rented. Our home is a 3 bedroom cape. We live in small city. The houses are pretty far apart so we have lots of land. I have lived in the same area my whole life.

Nice to be able to stay in one area but I enjoyed traveling over the years. It was nice having to pay rent or a mortgage while my husband was in the military. We now own our home although it's not in the area we want to stay forever. We hope to sell it within the next year and move to Florida. Thanks for the response.

I hope they will sell it to you soon. It is a great feeling to own a home of your own without having to do with it what someone else wants.

I sometimes wish I was back in base housing. Some of them are nice others need alot of work. I would love to not have to pay a big mortgage at this time. If I knew then what I know now it would have been different. Thanks for the response.

Oh thank God we don't pay rent anymore! We rented for so long and now we finally have our own house to call home...at least until we get bored with it and move on to something else...lol. We have a two-story Cape Cod house...it is cute but I really want a ranch house. I am really tired of having stairs, they are so dangerous for children and older people and I don't want to have to worry about someone I love slipping and breaking their neck on our stairs, there is enough out there trying to get them...I don't like adding to the list.

Good for you! I have to many stairs. I use to like the different levels but as age is beginning to set in We have decided to never have stairs again. Laundry doesn't get done as often with stairs...

What is your dream house? How much does a home there cost? My home is nice and worth over $400,000 but I think it is because of where we live. If you bought the same house in another state it wouldn't be as much but in other states it would be worth more.
