Is it safe to invest in mutual funds?

If: (a) You have well-defined target; (b) Your time-horizon is at least 3 years; (c) You chose a good Mutual Fund House; (d) You align your target with appropriate scheme; and (e) You invest through SIP route, Then Mutual Fund will give you good return. Kindly share your opinion.

You have to invest into debt and diversified mid cap funds to reduce risk. however do note that when market goes down the earning could reduce so bad that even FD will give better returns. so it is all about timing. you can reduce the risk by investing less when the market is down. however you can;t make much with FDs and RD. so some percent should be in equity in regular basis.

Yes, proper diversification and asset allocation according to personal commitments and risk profile are mantra of success in investment.

@SHARINGPARTHA For equity I think time frame hass to be more than 10 years. otherwise upto 5 years we can hardly do anything. return would be like debt fund.
