In this strife-ridden world, I cant imagine anybody who is free of stress. The stress could be work related or due to family reasons or any other reason for that matter. We also, with time evolve our own methods of dealing with them. I, for one,, do yoga, deep breathing,or resort to comfort eating. Then, depending on the situation, time and place, the method may differ. Can you share your recipe for coping with stress? Others can also benefit from your experience.

I relieve stress by cleaning house or going through my bedroom and seeing what I no longer am using and then at a later date take to someone who can use the items.

I use essential oils to lower stress levels. The smell keeps my emotions calm. Different foods/spices can also help to lower stress levels.

Some medications for stress can be replaced with different foods. For example the spice holy basil is different then Italian basil. Holy basil pairs well with the heart relieving stress from the heart.

Yoga surely is a tested method for dealing with stress. Regular exercise builds resistance to cope with stress. Your emotional get up is very important in not becoming stressful, when such situations arise.

I find it difficult to believe that one can go through life without any stress at all. Yes, the degree may vary or you maybe able to cope better. If you have no stress at all, you are a very lucky person indeed.

I watch a show or read a book that has characters I can relate to and if they say something that I can relate to, I feel motivated knowing I'm not alone in a specific stress area.

Used to listen to music but that led to depression as in that mood only listen sad songs so it didn't work. Now make my self busy with work, baby and sometimes do some art. Actually art makes me happy.

Stress is inevitable part of our life, we just cannot avoid it. I agree with you that if we are under stress going for Yoga and deep breathing are few of the best ways to cope with it. If I feel stressed I try to divert my attention and try to indulge myself in some activity which could keep me busy e.g. going for a walk, going to the market, watching a comedy movie or serial on TV or I will log into mylot to check the discussions. Once I am on mylot, I forget my stress.
