Alliteration is where several (most) words in a sentence/phrase begin with the same letter. The poem I wrote using this style is also an "ABC" style poem, which itself is a short version of an Abecedarian. While the Abecedarian has lines (or stanzas) which start with all twenty-six letters of the alphabet, the ABC usually only has five lines (though I suppose that the poet could use the same pattern with stanzas too) which means the beginnings of the lines only go to E. (I maintain, however that the poem could go further than "E" and still be and "ABC" poem, as long as it didn't go all the way to Z). My Alliteration/ABC poem is below. ;) ~*~ Apples and Anise Ben brings butter; Cup of cracker crumbs Don't disperse dill ! Everything ends being edible. © Stacey Uffelman 9-22-15

The one thing I never did was dig deeply into the styles of poetry. And I know there are many types. But when I write a poem I tend to not think of them as poems. Maybe I lean more toward song lyrics for my poems. But, they are mine and I guess just my style. I never liked to follow or conform to anything actually. So why should poems be any different.

I like to try new styles, whether I get them right or not. ;) Like you said, "they are mine." For me I feel the need to "excersise" my brain (and MY brain NEEDS the excersise)!

@xstitcher Nothing wrong with getting the mind working and thinking. That is a good thing. And yes, they are yours and unique to you.
