Different shades of sunset

Kolkata, India

I've often seen that during sunset, everything turns either purple or yellow or pink or orange. Most of the days it's normal. Maybe on some rainy days, but it was so wonderful seeing everything bathed in monochrome. Makes you look at everything in a different way. Have you seen a color turning the whole surroundings into its shade? Why do you think it happens? Moreover, isn't it beautiful?

One cloudy sunset
I love this pic I took from the terrace a year ago, it had rained the whole morning, and I went there and took some good pics.

Setting sun is one of the beauties of the nature, as is rising sun. I love to observe setting sun and I love to take its pictures. I am lucky I have seen it setting from the hills (in Panchmari) and I've seen it setting at sea beach of Goa and at sea beach at Kanyakumari at Ganges in Kolkatta, where the Ganges meet with Bay of Bengal and at Daman. The orange ball just before disappearing looks awesome and one feel mesmerized observing it. I think if the sky is clear it will get covered in orange colour, just before the sun is setting. If there are clouds or hills, its colour will change accordingly.

wow @dpk262006 yours is the best picture yet It is very beautiful. Yes you are right, it depends upon the weather and the topography of the region. I like the orange and yellow glow, they give the feel that sun is so near us. It's wonderful to hear you have seen so many different sunsets. I am betting none of them were alike. Each had to be special in its own way.
