When adding tags, I still use capital letters for real names and locations, i.e., London with a capital L, but the tag itself replaces the capitals with a lower case letter, (l). I’m not quite sure why that bugs me, after all it increases the chances of someone looking for London finding it if they forget the capital letter start of the capital city. It’s just one of those things that gets into my head and makes me yell, ‘but it’s wrong!’ Arthur Chappell

It annoys me in the very same way Arthur. I was taught that a pronoun begins with a capital some 60 years ago, so I get rather irate that people who claim to be intelligent these days set the system to generate grammatically wrong results.

I'm with you. Proper nouns require capitals. Even when I'm texting I use proper spelling, punctuation and capitals.

The reason is that the Search engine in MyLot is case insensitive. If the tags were stored in upper and lower case, the processing needed would be much higher because BOTH the search term and the target file would need to be converted to lower case before the search could be completed. Storing tags in lower case means that only the search term needs to be converted.

It's the computer systems. They are trying to change the way we write things, trying to say that capitalization, like grammar, is a thing of the past.

I hate when the computer "fix" something that doesn't need fixing.

I hadn't noticed that tags removed formatting, but now that you have pointed it out, I am sure I will be irritated with you. lol
