Is the Sun still friendly to us?

I used to go bare outside without any umbrella on sunny mornings and afternoons. The child 'me' thought I was soaking up Vitamin D. However, the Sun feels even hotter nowadays, we all know why. The climate is changing, and exposing our body to the Sun is not beneficial anymore. The UV rays affect the skin and much more underneath. I can't even go outside without opening an umbrella anymore, it feels like the Sun rays are burning my skin. Sunscreen is even more essential these days, advised by cosmetic expert and doctor alike. Given our weather and climate here, we already have all the nutrition we need from the Sun and don't need excess of it. So don't be deluded. Always ensure that you have protected your skin before going out. Excessive tanning and pigmentation can occur if you are not careful, and one in a million can get skin cancer. I am not blaming the Sun, but the handiwork of humans for this awful weather. However, we can't reverse it. Hence it's best to protect our skin.

I am not outside all that much. In the summe, I would walk my dogs, but I didn't cover up, as it was way to hot. Now, I do, since it is cooler out. I do wear sunglasses while I am out to protect my eyes.

@ria1606roy I use sunglasses even when it is cloudy, as I had cataract surgery, and I want to protect the lense. When I am outside, it is only a few minutes at a time, and I am moving not standing still, so nothing ever happened as far as sunscreen is concerned.

@rosekiss ohh I see. Yes after cataract surgery the eyes do require protection. But don't stay at home all the time there's still the evening.

Thats good. Eyes are also at a risk of having a problem with staring in the bright sunlight. Yeah during summer, a sunscreen should do okay i think and you don't need to cover up.

Yes you are very right when we are outside in the open it feels that that rays of sun are burning our skin. Specially, in the afternoon, we just cannot withstand its heat. For obtaining vitamin D, one needs to be in the sunlight in the morning hours before 10 am, this is what Doctors recommend. Vitamin is most essential for our bones and no other source is better than sun light. The one who remains indoors most of the times, face problems related to bones.

@ria1606roy Sun will definitely bother you more than camera . You could request the person holding the camera or mobile camera to hasten the process of capturing your photograph but you cannot request sun to be less hot.

@dpk262006 yes especially the dark goggles. I can't stand the bright light too long, my eyes begin to water. It's why I can't stand in front of the camera for long either I always tell them to take the pic quickly.

You cannot totally write off the sun's benefits. Before 11 and after 5 that is the time the sun's rays could be beneficial.

of course not, we are all fully aware that the Sun is necessary for our survival. But going out in the sun without sunscreen and umbrella is not an option nowadays. Everything feels like scorching. However, maybe it feels like this in the city and would feel differently if I was elsewhere.

The Sun isn't out to get us it is over-exposure and people actively trying to sun-tan their skins who are risking their futures. Just going out and about normally is as safe as ever.

Certainly over exposure is a problem. I'm not blaming the Sun, as I said but it has been really hot out here around noon. Skin really feels like burning. Going out within 9 am and after 4 pm is a piece of cake!

I use sunscreen now where as I didn't when I was younger. All I could think about was tanning and looking good.

yeah I did that too. Not the tanning part, though, but I didn't have a problem with going out in the Sun. Now sunscreen is mandatory.

@ria1606roy It really is. One is because my skin is so much dryer now that I am older and the second is because of skin cancer.

@ria1606roy yes you are absolutely correct but dear you should know that the 40 degree temperature is usefull for the wheat crop. If there is no rise in the temperature then we may not be able to eat chapaati :) its a balance by the nature.

it is. But not at 40 degrees centigrade when its rays are burning your back. This is the case for most of the year out here. Otherwise during a cool weather, I love the sun, and even then sunblock/sunscreen is important.

It is always wise to use sun protection if exposed for long periods, but we do need the sun since it is the main source of vitamin D
