If you found $1000 in a bag on the ground, what would you do?

Man, I suppose I would first look around to see if there was someone frantically looking for something. If so I would ask for what and go from there....
If there wasn't anyone looking, I would go into the nearest building and ask around. I wouldn't say what I found but would ask if anyone had lost anything.
After that I don't know what I would do next.....
How about you?

Like you if there was a way to find the person, I would. If not I would pay a bill.

I would do what I always do, look to see if there were any identification information. If there was I would contact the person direct if I could and tell them I had found it.
If there was no identification then I would take it to the nearest Police Station and hand it in. I have found in the past that if no one claims it within a specified time then the police returned it to me.

@Asylum I agree, it depends on the circumstance. You just never know where it came from. (thank you for responding)

With that much money lost, surely someone would be looking for it. That is a lot of money, and to take it when it isn't mine, wouldn't be right, even though I could use it. I want to get money honestly, and taking money that isn't mine isn't honest. I would take it either insdie a sotre if it was dropped in the parking lot, or I would take it to the nearest police station.

@happytails You are very welcome. You are right and I don't want karma getting a hold of me.

I would definitely look to see if someone lost it. If nobody claimed it, I'd probably be boring and just pay down some bills with it. It's sad but in this day and age, $1000 just isn't a whole lot of money, would make a nice dent in some bills but certainly wouldn't be life changing.

i think i would have to take it inside the bussiness it was found by and turn it in to see if it belonged to someone

Yes except I wouldn't just hand it over. Anyone, and it would be a temptation, could say it was theirs. I would just say I found a bag and leave it at that. If it belonged to someone they would know what was in it! Thanks for responding!
