An Atheistic Bible Study Of Psalm 150

Psalm 150/. To be sure everyone knows you are praying to God properly prayer is to be conducted loudly and publically. This encourages everyone to be seen to be at prayer which surely puts out the obvious increasing risk of displays of false piety and insincerity. Quiet, contemplative private personal prayer is discouraged, ending the last Psalm on something of a controversial note. Surely if God is omnipotent he would know who is praying and who isn’t without prayers having to be managed and supervised by priests and peer group pressure. There are later many examples of people praying alone in the Bible. Arthur Chappell

@arthurchappell I'll always sing the hymns even if I don't believe a word of what I'm singing! If the tune's good I'll belt it out with the best of them - it's the only chance I get to sing these days!
