Sights sounds, smells and memories

I just stepped out into the porch and a bunch of yellowing leaves swirling in the wind flew past me taking me back in time and space into something I thought I had forgotten a long time ago.
The smell of baking with a dash of cinnamon in it always reminds me of Christmas.
Certain songs transport me into my childhood with ease.
What kind of memories are attached to your sense of sight, sounds, smells..?
Do you go into a long rewind and wake up with a sigh..??

I guess I am a bit different. The smell of pine always reminds me of Christmas, where the smell of cinnamon always reminded me of all the pies that my family used to bake (yes, usually during the holidays). I can see things when driving down the road that might trigger things of the past.

@TexanTornado when we were small we used real pine trees instead of artificial Christmas trees.. was it the same with you?
I love cinnamon buns.. and cinnamon rolls.. but hubby doesn't like anything with cinnamon flavor.

@sofssu Yes, we always had a live tree for Christmas. It was a tradition, where we would all go and see who could find the best one. For almost a month the house smelt like fresh pine. It's a tradition I carried on through til my kids were out of the house.
Yes, both of them I enjoy too. Oh no, I love the taste of cinnamon, along with the scent of it.

@TexanTornado No wonder.. I don't remember the smell of it so much as the goodies baked with cinnamon.
I also have this thing about long drives.. it always sends me of on a reverie.. a small thing I see will take me back into time.
I wish we could time travel just with our minds.. I somehow feel it could be possible.. we just have to figure it out first.

@simone10 Coconuts remind me of my grandma... she always used them in everything... What does lavender remind you of? It reminds me of a nice massage and relaxed sleep.. I used to have a lady massage my back for years with a combinations of oils.. lavender was always added to help relax the muscles on my back.. I had severe back issues then.

@swissheart I bought some candies that reminded me of my childhood just a week ago. It was fun sharing it with my husband and telling him all about those carefree days.

@swissheart It sure is.. We keep sharing these memories so much that I can actually relate to most of his childhood friends when I see them. He does recognize some of my friends because we live very far from my home town.

@crazyhorseladycx That she does.. without fail. I guess this sensual thing doesn't work for everyone. Are you sure the smell of fresh hay or some smells around the farm bring up memories of your horse stories?

There is a particular smell, I can describe it as salty air, which I distinctly associate with the sea. I love the sea and love to dip my feet into the water and stand with wind caressing my face.
And there's a song which reminds me of the time I got up on the stage to sing it when I was 15. It was fun, I enjoyed it, and I look back at that memory with fondness.

@ria1606roy I love the pleasant memories. The seaside, lakes or a happy event. Somehow you just become years younger in a second.. Amazing.

Certain shampoo and shower gel fragrances take me back to my childhood days. Songs, well...many songs from the 90's bring back teenage memories (I remember boy bands were a huge hit back then).

@cahaya1983 I can relate to both. There were a specific set of songs that are attached to my teen years. There are certain smells I associate with my grandma... he cooking.
We used to go to a church in the suburbs which is almost a village and the smells there constantly reminded me of my grandma's home. I used to flit in and out of church
