Well the Cricket Insecticide Made Me Sick, the Cricket Seems Fine

I have had a cricket problem for the past few days. I have killed two and thrown one out the door. Now there's another one. I am so tired of hunting them down, that I thought cricket spray would do the trick. I guess you have to spray it directly on them. Instead I sprayed it around all of the baseboards and floors where I hear him/her chirping. I have a headache, I have sprayed so much. The chirping just continues. It's coming from the kitchen so I think I will go clean it and maybe I'll find him. The spray will be nearby. How do you deal with crickets?

I don't have problems with crickets, but I do with cockroaches. They usually lurk in the bathroom. I spray them directly and I prefer the water-based one because it has low/no odor.

Ha, I was trying to remember the name for cockroaches recently and just couldn't come up with it. Now I just have to remember who it was that I was conversing with. We were talking about yucky bugs or something like that.

@MarshaMusselman Haha I don't think I'll ever forget cockroaches, ever. The flying ones? Oh gosh. Worse. My sister used to wake up everyone in the middle of the night whenever there was a flying cockroach in her room.

@cahaya1983 Not sure that I knew there were flying ones. I couldn't believe I forgot what they were called, but we don't have them around here. I ran into them the first and possibly only time in North Carolina when they were shipped to a store with bags of potatoes or something like that. Disgusting creatures.

I try to find the offender and toss him outside. Like you, I hate it when one finds a good hiding place and outsmarts me.

Well I think part of the problem was an errant smoke detector. However, there's a cricket too. A little less annoying sounds.

I have given up sprays because no matter how safe or perfumed they are, they make me feel ill. My new discovery is diatomaceous earth. It's amazing.
Where has this stuff been all my life? Ever since I moved into this apartment, I have felt like I am suffering the ten plagues of Egypt. First came the ants....

Well I don't have any of it in the house now and the chirping is driving me crazy. I do sympathize with your feeling of ten plagues.

Sounds like they are immune to the sprays.. like most pesticides are after a while.

I hope not. Although I killed one the other day, by spraying it with Lysol disinfectant. If I could find it I would spray it directly.
