Just wondering if you have any fruit trees in your own backyard? Is the season over where you live? Our neighbors to the south have quite a few fruit trees and give us some of them sometimes. It is very much appreciated, especially the pears.

There is a pear tree that overhangs my garden, but which belongs to the house on the other side of the fence. I have cut it back a few times, but it does not take long for it to return.

@marlina I believe the law does give me that right. The majority appear to be rather small and of no real interest to me, but some do fall off into my garden. This can be a real nuisance if I mow the grass without noticing them.

I guess you are allowed to pick some pears if it does hang over your side?

We do not have any trees in our yard. We did when we moved here but only for the winter and then in the spring, the landlord cut them all down.

@marlina He didn't want to rake them, and he had nowhere to put them. Apparently, he used to just shove them into the ditch. But the ditch is now a pedestrian path.

I wonder why the landlord cut down the fruit trees? Weird.

I have a persimmon tree in my backyard, but the fruits are usually not mature before mid-December here.

Sadly, we do not have fruit trees in our backyard. Though I wish I did. My grandmother did have and I grew up eating some of the best fresh fruit ever.
