ever came across a drug addict?

drug addicted people are no doubt marginalized by the society. they are seen like people who provoke scandals and even pharmaceutical stores refuse to sell them syringes because they have the sensation that by ignoring them they are going to disappear.
but i think is only up to us: the society to solve this problem. the solution isn't denying their existence but finding a way to help them to overcome their addiction

This is definitely a moot point. I will agree that there are many in such situations who have ended up addicted and would like to quit. Sadly there are also a vast number of such people who have no interest in giving up the habits and only care about how to acquire another fix.
Unfortunately it is extremely difficult to differentiate, so resources get squandered on the wrong people while those who deserve assistance are left out.
