I hope the van I picked wasn't a bad choice made out of desperation

I have been really unlucky lately finding a minivan to buy. My dad bought his car off a dealer in NY. He called him today to see if the guy had any minivans for sale. He actually had two one that could be sold today and one that wouldn't be ready til Monday. It has 150,000 miles and is a 2002 Honda Odyssey. It was about the same price I paid for my last van that has lasted me 2 years. My van now only has 112,000 on it but is to rusted out to fix. I do not like the fact that it is 13 years old and has so many miles on it or that it is a New York State vehicle where the rock salt on the roads in the winter destroys the metal. The gas mileage isn't the greatest either. However this was in wonderful shape. It looks like it was kept in a garage when it wasn't being driven. It was detailed and is very clean inside. I hope I can at least get two years out of it and it won't be something that I have to shell out money on repairs all the time. I really need a vehicle and hope that this was a good choice to buy this even though in my gut right now I'm not sure if I should have bought it. My dad always drives older vehicles and they break down all the time. I feel like I shouldn't have listened to his judgement on vehicle shopping. This has a few very minor things the guy needs to fix before I pick it up Monday. One is putting a new tire on the rear as the one on it has a large bubble.

Well I hope you made the right choice it is hard to car shop out there. My vehicle is a 2008 and i only have 61,300 miles on it but I bought it with 0 miles on it. I hope this one will last you a long while.

I probably only put on about 10,000 miles a year if that on my vehicles. You have had your vehicle for 7 years and only put on 61,300 miles. Sounds like don't drive anymore then I do maybe less then me. 61,300 would still be considered low mileage if you were to sell it.
