Downloading Applications From The Internet

free trials, advertising, marketing

Lately, I have found that when I try new apps to download from the internet, I get hit with several other software programs without being asked. This is so annoying. I especially get hit when I try to download new games. It takes a lot of time to remove all that garbage from my computer. If these advertisers want my business, they are going about it the wrong way. I am more likely to be more cautious and not download anything at all when I see their name or give these advertisers my business for fear of adware, spyware, and other malicious content. I know it is all just a sales and marketing game, but tricking people into purchasing things that they promote as free is not cool. If it is a free trial they should say free trial and give you the heads up, before they ask for billing information. How do you feel about this?

I really hate that you can't trust things to download 'cleanly'.

Isn't that the truth...
