what kind of things does she like? That is the best place to start. I have 3 daughters all older and each year it got harder to decide what to get them. Each one was different and I would never have given them the same present at any age. Some basic ideas would be a start of a book series or may a craft she can do. Just think about who she is as a person and your choice should be easy and she will love it.

I got her a hillary duff watch but I don't think she likes it because she just told me that she doesn't tell anyone she likes her though
